There are 200 million licensed drivers in the US and 1% of that figure is convicted of a DUI/DWI yearly. That's 1 out of every 144 Americans that are subject to injustice and infringement of their personal rights and freedoms to travel unabated in this country. The average citizen pays $10,000, between bond and legal fees to absolve themselves for violating laws that shouldn't be on the books. Ordinary Americans, just like you have had their reputations tarnished by unfair laws.
Drunk Driving is often a victimless crime, the media wrongfully continues to portray Alcoholic Americans and Drunk Drivers as murderers behind the wheel. In reality, the CDC estimates the average Drunk Driver has done so almost 80 times prior to their first arrest. Think about how rare getting pulled over it, much less getting in a car accident! How many sober people do you know that have been in or caused car accidents? Now what about Alcoholic Americans? Exactly.
Drunk Drivers are a useful group of people when it comes to wealth extraction. You see, ever since the US was founded, Alcoholic Americans were seen as a revenue cash cow by those in power. The first ever tax on a commercial good EVER in America was on Whiskey! There's a simple reason why, Alcoholic Americans are simply more productive than most people! Politicians and bureaucrats have recognized this, and sought to devise a scheme to milk more money out of us!
What we have now is a system where you blow into a machine or take an arbitrary test issued by a cop with a community college degree (if even that!) Once you get arrested, you have to spend thousands of dollars to clear your name, as, even though Drunk Driving is nonviolent, society has been conditioned to lump us alongside rapists, serial killers and gang members! Is this system fair? No. No it isn't.
